Finn
manages our VPI Sustainability Leaders Pool and is a member of our Asset Allocation Committee
and Investment Committee, Finn has been investing for over ten years and is
graduate of the I.H. Asper School of Business with a Bachelor of Commerce
(Honours) degree, where he also received the silver medal in management. Before
his role as a Portfolio Manager, Finn was a Research Analyst for several years
on the VPI Canadian Equity Pool and over the last six years has worked on half
the investment strategies at Value Partners Investments.
Finn believes that long-term ownership
of businesses that are difficult to live without, compete with, and replicate
is the most certain path to creating wealth. These types of high-quality
businesses can sustain high returns on capital, owning these companies at
attractive prices should lead to good returns for investors. Importantly, he
believes that companies who think long-term about their business and their role
in society are the best positioned for durable growth. Finn works hard to untangle complicated financial questions
for shareholders, advisors, and clients.
Away from
work Finn enjoys cooking for family and friends. Prior to his current career
Finn worked for 10 years in the restaurant industry. When he isn’t found in the
kitchen or at his desk Finn loves to hike and other outdoor activities.
